You may have seen the coverage of Kayak4Heroes – the 5-man team, kayaking from Land’s End to John O’Groats; an iconic British challenge, covering a testing journey of 1400 kilometres.

The Kayak4Heroes team is made up of 5 brave souls (Ben, Carl, Darren, Jonny and Luke) who set out to become the first adaptive team to complete the iconic Land’s End to John O’ Groats challenge by kayak. In the process, they are hoping to raise over £100,000 for the incredible charity supporting our nation’s heroes: the Armed Forces Para-Snowsports Team, through which the teammates all met, and chosen for helping the team to overcome disability.

Following the team’s success in their quest and with a wish to support Jonny Huntington, one of Fieri’s associates, and the rest of his teammates, we would like to shine a light on this challenge in the hope of helping them reach their target fundraising total on JustGiving.

Jonny is a Former Army Officer and ultra-marathon runner; paralysed down his left side by a brain bleed. He is now a cross country skier, climber and endurance athlete, with ambitions of soloing the South Pole in 2022.

Through July, the team tackled some of the United Kingdom’s toughest waters to beat their goal for completing the challenge – 35 days; they ended up completing the journey in 26. In addition to the challenging 1,400-kilometre route, the team worked together to overcome their respective injuries and disabilities to succeed.

Well Done to Jonny and his team from all at Fieri!
